He's used to being the star of the show, but today Justin Bieber was the support act as he joined his girlfriend Selena Gomez on her promotional trail for her new movie and album.

The 17-year-old accompanied his 18-year-old love to an early morning appearance on Fox & Friends in Manhattan.

The pop star appeared a little weary though, and stopped for a caffeine fix while on the run.


Clutching an Au Bon take-away coffee, the teen sensation eagerly sipped what seemed like a much needed pick-me-up.

Trying not to steal the limelight from Selena, Justin dressed down for the occasion in a pair of charcoal jeans and a black t-shirt.

But with his signature red baseball cap perched firmly on his head, there was no doubt the chart-topping singer was present.

Selena looked sensational in a slinky knee-length purple coloured sating frock, which she paired silver pointed toe heels.

The dress accentuated the singer's glowing olive complexion and she wore minimal make-up on her flawless and youthful face.

And while Selena looked all grown up for her promotional appearance, on the show Selena said that she would not be completed ditching her Disney roots.

'I have finished with Disney Channel, but that does not mean that I want to completely disown the fact that I do have a younger generation looking up at me,' she said.

'I feel like I’ve done the best I can. If I make my family proud and if I make my fans proud that’s all that matters to me.'

Supporting each other's careers is just another sign that the couple relationship is getting stronger and closer as days go by.

Last week, even after surviving a reported fan attack at Macy’s Herald Square in New York, Justin made sure to pick himself up and head to Selena’s film premiere.

Bieber there met up his girlfriend to support her at the premiere for Monte Carlo – her new romantic comedy that also stars Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

Days before he also wrapped a protective arm around Selena when she hosted the MuchMusic Video Awards awards ceremony.

Selena had had a rocky few weeks after she fell ill and was admitted into hospital for 24 hours with malnutrition earlier this month.

The awards was Selena's first public appearance since her dramatic hospital dash.

Bieber took to the stage to accept an award, which he shared with hip hop star Drake, after they were named joint winners of best international Canadian video.

Selena has been having a ball celebrating her new romantic comedy with her female co-stars over the last couple of weeks.

The film sees three young women on holiday in Paris and find themselves whisked away to Monte Carlo after one of the girls is mistaken for a British heiress.

Selena stars in the film alongside two of Gossip Girl’s actresses Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.

Monte Carlo is set to be released next month, so Selena was keen to promote her new project to her fans.

Selena is currently promoting her hit song 'Who Says' which she performs with her group Selena Gomez and The Scene.

But the 17-year-old teenager was spotted in Los Angeles yesterday with a giant spider sitting in his hand.

Thankfully the eight-legged friend was merely just a toy figurine, and oddly the singing sensation was carrying it around.

Bieber teamed his ghoulish accessory with an aptly themed T-shirt, adorned with white skulls.

He paired the top with beige trousers and his favourite red baseball shoes with matching cap.

Bieber's outing comes after a big night at the BET Awards on Sunday night.
There he joined Nicki Minaj to present the male hip-hop artist which was awarded to Kanye West.

The pop star was left shaken last week, after he survived a reported fan attack.
An undercover NYPD cop was allegedly taken out by one of Justin Bieber's own bodyguards.

The undercover policeman was mistaken for a crazed fan trying to attack the teenage superstar in a bizarre melee that resulted in one of Bieber's own security guards being issued with a summons.

The plain-clothed officer stepped in to protect the Canadian heartthrob from the crowd surge when an overprotective Bieber bodyguard allegedly grabbed him and tried to pull him away from the boy.

Bieber was reportedly shaken up by the incident, which saw the bodyguard issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Initial reports from the scene had suggested that a man had jumped the barricades, attacking Bieber and knocking him to the ground - but police have since denied that he was touched or hurt.

A witness said the Canadian singer shouted: 'What? What?' as the incident happened, before rushing back into the store and not talking to waiting reporters.

Selena in particular being very touchy feely with her beau who appeared a little uncomfortable with her public displays of affection.

The pop superstar's face said it all as his Disney star girlfriend wrapped her arms around him during the NBA playoff match between Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas.

Justin, 17, kept his hands in his pockets at one point while Selena placed her arms tenderly around his neck and planted a kiss on his cheek.

Later he shared a warm embrace with the 18-year-old star of Wizards of Waverly Place, but was more concerned with the basketball match for most of their evening.

During their holiday Justin and Selena were pictured frolicking in the sea together, Selena straddling her boyfriend as he held her up in his arms.

In the playoff match Miami Heat lost 86-83 to the Dallas Mavericks - the result left the teams tied at two games apiece in the best-of-seven series.

Perhaps Justin was distracted because he was conducting research for his forthcoming basketball movie.

Approached about the movie by MTV, he said: 'I know, it’s gonna be crazy!
'You’ll have to see. I can’t really reveal too much about it.'

Justin's co-star Mark Wahlberg also recently spoke about the new film.

He explained that he was impressed by Bieber's video audition, saying: 'He sent me a video of himself, and, yeah, I think he's really talented.'

Radar Online has exclusively discovered that the Canadian heartthrob has been a fan of Tila’s since his pubescent years. As early as 13 years old, he started leaving comments on her YouTube videos!

“um.. this should be rated R lol,” Bieber commented four years ago on Tila’s official I Love U music video.

Obviously trying to win over Tila’s online fans, he added: “I’m only 13 but I sing in my videos. Check them out and let me know what you think :P Justin.”

The comment was left under the username kidrauhl, which links directly to Bieber’s official YouTube channel.

Tila, meanwhile, seems to be taken by the singer of Never Say Never.

“He is absolutely adorable… I can now see why so many girls have fallen head over heels in love with him,” Tila said.

“Justin, if you’re reading this: I want to pinch your cute little cheeks! You’re doing great out there kiddo…don’t let anyone bring you down!”

Interestingly, both Tila and Bieber rose to fame after becoming YouTube sensations and Tila tells us she’d love to collaborate with him on a project, but more importantly, go on a date with him!

“Maybe one day he and I can do a collaboration on a song together or work on a movie together,” Tila said. “As soon as he turns 18 I’m going to ask him out!”
